The popularity remains especially when the Hong Kong stock market is booming recently and there is a large overseas asset allocation demand requested by China HNWs and institutional investors. More China hedge fund managers build their fund business out of China. However, the costs, information, resources and other factors behind should be taken into consideration. Some institutions like OPIM, become the “guide” to help private equity firms go offshore. With the investment environment changing and increasing openness of markets, the speed for fund managers to go out of China will accelerate in the future.
