to List In 2016, the A-shares market was weak, while the H-shares market and the U.S. stock market continuing to strengthen. The difference between domestic and overseas market performance attracted domestic private funds to shift to Hong Kong stock market and international market. However, due to the difference between domestic and overseas regulatory system, it won’t be easy for domestic private funds to adapt to the overseas market. Insiders suggested that private funds should proactively seek help from professional institutions for going offshore.
Li Wei, Executive Vice President of OP Investment Management, commented that domestic private funds will gradually shift from “making global investments” to “managing global assets.” When it comes to the reason why more and more private funds are going offshore, Li Wei believed it was not only driven by macro trend but also their own consideration on market layout.
