Alteca Core Fund is organised as a feeder fund and will invest all of its assets in the participating shares of the Alteca Master Fund (the “Master Fund”).
The investment objective of the Master Fund is to generate sustainable returns through predominantly long (and to a lesser extent, with a combination of lesser short) equity investments and derivatives relating to companies primarily in China, Hong Kong, US, Korea, and Japan utilising the portfolio manager’s local knowledge and extensive contacts in those countries.
The Master Fund will primarily invest in companies in China, Korea, and Japan in what being considers a “core” industry, including those in relation to the internet, media, retail, consumer, biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.
The Master Fund seeks to generate and maximize long term risk-adjusted returns and achieve significant capital appreciation by investing through a combination of long and short equity investments and securities of companies that are well positioned to grow their earnings power through large addressable market, superb and innovative products and services, and superior management and corporate culture.
The Master Fund will apply a long short equity strategy to hedge some of market volatility. The long short target companies are carefully selected from the portfolio manager’s extensive research and analysis.
